Nat Sobel

Founder, Agent

Nat founded the agency in 1970. He is a former bookseller, publisher's sales rep, marketing director, and subsidiary rights agent. He holds a B.A. in English from the City College of New York. He is a founder of the New York Literary Writers Conference.

Judith Weber

Director of Foreign Rights, Agent

Judith joined the agency in 1977, following several years as Director of Publicity, Promotion, and Advertising and in senior editorial positions with major publishers. She is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a B.A. in English and New York University with a Masters degree in English. She has been a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and of Les Dames d'Escoffier. She is a founder of the New York Literary Writers Conference.

Keith Stillman

Foreign Rights, Associate Agent

Keith is a former writing teacher and bookseller. He graduated from the NYU Summer Publishing Institute and the Writer’s House Internship Program, and holds a Master of Arts in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University. He has a diverse taste in books, but tends to lean toward upmarket crime and horror fiction with a tilt toward the bizarre and fantastic.

Joey Sobel

Contracts Associate

Joey Sobel joined Sobel Weber Associates in 2024. Joey is a multifaceted professional with years of bookkeeping experience and a passion for the arts and community service. She began her academic journey as a law major, honing her analytical skills before focusing on her true love—books. While in college, she worked as a library assistant, deepening her appreciation for literature.

A talented cake artist, Joey creates stunning custom cakes that delight the senses. As a certified yoga instructor and Sanskrit teacher, she promotes spirituality through ancient Vedic wisdom. Her compassion extends to wildlife, where she serves as a wild animal rehabilitator and wallaby caretaker.

Doyle Huckabee

Director of Chaos

Doyle Huckabee is the bounciest agent in the literary world, specializing in fast-paced thrillers and punchy plots. When he's not hopping between manuscripts, you’ll find him bounding to meetings with a spring in his step.

Known for his strong leaps of logic and ROOthless ability to sell a good book, Mr. Huckabee is dedicated to launching authors to new heights. His motto is, "If your story has legs, I’ll make sure it hops off the shelves!" Mr. Huckabee’s favorite novels are “The Croocible”, “Roo with a View” and “Romeo and Rooliet”.
